Tuttnauer Equips 3M’s European Headquarters with a Biohazard Sterilizer

3M’s European production and sales are headquartered in Zwijndrecht, Belgium, where the company’s Dyneon subsidiary manufactures such semi-finished products as adhesive for Post-it® notes and Scotch® tape, inert chemicals for cooling and cleaning of electronic and computer parts, paint components, and fluoroelastomers, which are used in the auto industry.

3M’s Zwijndrecht laboratory is designed for research and development of specialty materials as well as technical support.

As part of the lab’s refurbishment, 3M purchased a Tuttnauer 4496-2VEP double-door, 160-liter horizontal sterilizer. This fast-cooling unit is equipped with a steam generator and a biohazard filtration system to prevent the release of microorganisms into the environment.

Tuttnauer oversaw the successful installation of the sterilizer, personnel training, and the validation period (including IQ/OQ).

The sterilizer has been up and running since January 2014, and we are happy to add 3M to our list of satisfied customers.

Tuttnauer Europe’s reach extends to Zwijndrecht, Belgium, where a Tuttnauer sterilizer has been up and running in the laboratory of 3M’s European headquarters since January 2014.

I’m satisfied with the unit,” says senior validation engineer Steven de Groeve. “It does what it’s supposed to do and is user-friendly. During installation and training, Tuttnauer answered all our questions, and the functionality of the sterilizer was explained professionally.

Afterward we faced some minor fine-tuning issues. These were resolved in an effective and timely manner by the After-Sales Department. Overall we’ve been pleased with every phase: sales, installation, training, as well as after-sales.
